Doug Takagawara

HISTORY

Doug Takaragawa is from Los Angles and has had a long-standing career in baseball. He began playing at an early age and continued through to Azusa Pacific College. He made the NAIA all-conference in District 3 as a freshman at Azusa Pacific Jr College and was MVP of the Azusa Pacific Jr. College baseball team.

He is best known as an international Major League Baseball scout. He worked as the Scouting Supervisor for a number of teams including, the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Cleveland Indians, and the Philadelphia Phillies. While with Phillies, he was in charge of international scouting. He scouted for the San Diego Padres and Texas Rangers as well.

Involved with Major League Baseball for over 35 years, 25 years as a scout, he also worked as a MLB Urban Youth Academy coordinator, program director, director of scouting and player development.
